Ty Reed, founder

Ty decided to start Recovery Career Services (RCS) after experiencing difficulties finding work after his recovery from addiction, homelessness, and periods of incarceration. Despite having extensive work experience and an advanced degree, quality employment was initially hard to find. He recognized that for people not lucky enough to have his work history and education, things must feel impossible.

Ty has dedicated himself to the service of others in recovery. In addition to his work with RCS, he is co-lead of the Snohomish County Coordinated Entry Committee, a group that works to improve the homeless services system in the County. He also volunteers as a speaker coach for the People’s Committee, a Pierce County group that helps individuals in recovery tell their stories.

As a speaker, Ty has used his addiction, recovery, and employment experiences to deliver his inspirational message to Rotary Clubs, Chambers of Commerce, businesses, associations, and nonprofits.

He holds an MBA from the University of WA Foster School of Business, a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation, is a Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP)

Originally from Tennessee, he has called WA State home for almost 35 years and lived in all parts of the state. He currently resides in North Seattle with his girlfriend and their two dogs.
