clean comeback program
The challenges regarding employment for people in recovery are unique. We are here to help.
clean comeback Program
Our individual coaching program is the cornerstone of what we do. In it, we help individuals in all phases of recovery overcome barriers and identify opportunities related to finding, getting, and keeping a job. This can range from those in early recovery looking for that first job in sobriety to the sober person who is currently employed and seeking career advancement.
Designed for individuals in recovery who are rebuilding their careers, our confidential coaching is offered on an as-needed basis. While we guide each client, our coaching agreements require that every client participates in the process. Ownership and self-advocacy are crucial components of any comeback journey!
These program services are either: 1) pro-bono for the client and funded by donations from individuals, funders, and organizations, or 2) low-bono, meaning on a very reasonable sliding scale. Clients are selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to resource constraints, pro bono client spots are limited, but we do maintain a waitlist. Priority is given to individuals in the first 6 months of recovery or in the first 6 months of release from incarceration.
Charitable donations enable us to offer individual services either pro bono or on a very reasonable sliding scale.
In this program, we work with clients to:
Identify skills and interests
Identify barriers to employment and create a plan to address those barriers
Decide whether volunteering or traditional employment is more appropriate
Learn to self-advocate
Provide direct connections to community-based organizations and state agencies for retraining or internships
Target recovery jobs to get reestablished in the workforce
Increase their value to prospective employers
Prepare resumes and learn how to interview
Prepare letters of explanation regarding criminal convictions and prep their “elevator speech”
Choose a career path to move from entry-level positions to a sustainable career
Set short and long-term educational and employment goals

Ty was direct, available, and very knowledgeable when I asked him for help and guidance in my career path. My professional background is anything but strait-forward and Ty offered great suggestions to help me gain both the direction and confidence I needed to take the next step in my career. I’m very grateful to have Ty as a friend and colleague and would trust without a doubt that anyone I sent his way would be in good hands.

Ty provided realistic and supportive career goals for me upon re-entry into the workforce. He was a great source of information regarding what language to use and also practice a mock dialogues with potential employers regarding a gap in my work history while in treatment for 9 months, AND without guilt or shame. He provided me with several options and times of one-on-one meetings through Zoom as we walked together through the process.
Ty supported me with clear and direct steps and the confidence and self-compassion to strive for success in my next career move. He has a passion for helping others to become the best version of themselves as well as a successful and sober contributor to society. Thank you Ty!!
